Tea & Poetry: In the Middle Space

Celebrate poetry month with Tea & Poetry at River Bookshop’s Hole in the Wall! Our host, Marty Gervais has invited four local authors to read from the newest Black Moss Press poetry collection, In the Middle Space. This anthology is a collaboration created by 13 local authors, born out of love for public art, and invites readers to take a quiet stroll to meditate and view the city’s often-forgotten public art.

All 13 authors worked closely with the University of Windsor’s Editing/Publishing practicum students and with Marty Gervais and Black Moss Press to create this unique and inspiring collection of poems.

This reading will feature Windsor’s poet Laureate Peter Hrastovec, as well as Mary Ann Mulhern, Windsor’s former Poet Laureate, Rawand Mustafa, a local author, and Andre Narbonne, who was longlisted for the Scotiabank Giller Prize in 2022 for his novel Lucien & Olivia. Each will read a selection of poems from In the Middle Space. Join us for tea, scones, and poetry! Tickets are $30 + fees and include a copy of the book In the Middle Space.

Finally, to celebrate Poetry Month, River Bookshop will be selling books from the Black Moss Press Rare Book Collection. Black Moss Press is one of the oldest publishers in Canada, and the collection of Rare Books date back to the 1970s.
