Everyone who knows Poetry at the Manor knows John B. Lee. In 2005 John B. Lee was inducted as Poet Laureate of Brantford in perpetuity. In 2011 he was appointed Poet Laureate of Norfolk County (2011-14) and in 2015 Honourary Poet Laureate of Norfolk County for life. An amazing poet, he has rightly won many awards for his writing. John is also an amazing public speaker, with the ability to hold a crowd captive by his words it’s no surprise he’s been asked to return to Poetry at the Manor time and again. A long time Black Moss Press author, his books include The Widow’s Land, The Full Measure, Burning My Father, and coming this fall 2018 Beautiful Stupid. He has received letters of praise from Nelson Mandela, Desmond Tutu, Australian poet Les Murray, and Senator Romeo Dallaire. Called “the greatest living poet in English,” by poet George Whipple, he lives in Port Dover, Ontario where he works as a full time author. Take the time to come out and meet him at Willistead Manor on October 2nd 2018, at 7pm.
