It’s the main Black Moss Press event of the Spring! With National Poetry Month just around the (chilly) corner, Publisher Marty Gervais and the students in the Editing & Publishing Practicum at the University of Windsor are extremely proud to present: Lights, Literature & Laughter – Launching new poetry from John B Lee and John Wing Jr.
John Wing Jr.’s ‘Why-Shaped Scars’ is a collection of raw, honest and funny poetry with shades of darkness bringing humour to the mundane, beauty to the ordinary and chaos to everyday life. This is Wing’s 8th book of poetry, his third with Black Moss Press. If the name John Wing Jr rings a bell, it’s likely from hearing it on television in 2013 as he was a finalist on the hit show ‘America’s Got Talent‘. Wing wowed the crowd with this bow-tied humour, bringing his career as a top-Canadian comedian to millions of homes each week. Of course, Black Moss Press is thrilled to be working with Wing again. We will no doubt be witness to loads of hilarious and heart-hitting poetic comedy at this event!
The farm meets Las Vegas! John B Lee’s newest Black Moss Press publication ‘Burning My Father’ weaves a powerful story of internal conflict, personal growth, and family loyalty. This is the third instalment to Lee’s ‘Black Barns Trilogy’. Lee has written over 165 books, appeared in over 500 publications and won over 70 awards. Prolific is an understatement, and what Lee can bring to any reading is years of dedication, expertise and entertainment!
Here are the students who got the experience of a lifetime bringing two new books to life!
The students have been super busy over the year, and especially over these last few weeks preparing for the double book launch. There are a load of ways to stay connect to all things ‘Lights, Literature & Laughter’ – including via here on the site, on Facebook, and on Youtube.
Congratulations to all for a success journey! We’ll see you at the launch!!
